Limited-Mobility Off-Roading Program

Because everyone deserves the chance to experience Utah’s wild places — no matter their mobility level.

The backcountry offers peace, freedom, and connection — but for many individuals with limited mobility, Utah’s trails feel impossible to reach. Our Limited-Mobility Off-Roading Program changes that.

Supported by our OHV Tourism Grant and powered by trained volunteer drivers, we offer safe, emotionally meaningful off-road experiences for riders who otherwise wouldn’t have access.

Whether it’s a scenic alpine overlook, a sunset ridge road, or a quiet high-mountain lake, these moments matter — for families, veterans, and community members facing physical limitations.

What We Provide

  • Seats for passengers with limited mobility in safe, capable, volunteer vehicles
  • Adaptive support for loading/unloading with dignity and safety
  • Comfortable seating with supportive restraints if needed
  • Trails chosen specifically for scenery, comfort, and accessibility
  • Private and small-group ride options for a relaxed, enjoyable experience
  • Family-inclusive options allowing loved ones to join the experience

Our team is trained to support physical limitations respectfully and safely — without judgment, assumptions, or pressure.

Who This Program Is For

This program is open to anyone who:

  • Has limited walking or mobility capabilities
  • Uses assistive devices (canes, walkers, braces, etc.)
  • Cannot safely access rough terrain on foot
  • Is physically unable to drive off-road but wants to participate
  • Is a veteran or community member in need of a therapeutic outdoor experience
  • Is referred by family, friends, therapists, or care teams

No off-roading experience is required — we handle everything.

Safety Comes First

Every limited-mobility ride includes experienced drivers, safety briefings, proper loading assistance, and careful trail selection. We adapt every ride to the participant’s comfort level.

  • Stock or lightly modified vehicles for smooth, comfortable rides
  • Trail speeds kept slow and stable
  • Secure seating and support straps if needed
  • Emergency contact protocols and communication gear
  • Weather and trail-condition monitoring

How to Refer Someone

Referrals can come from:

  • Veteran support groups
  • Therapists or medical providers
  • Caregivers or social workers
  • Community organizations

We handle scheduling, planning, and matching each rider with the right vehicle and driver.
