Stock-Friendly vs Built Rigs
You do not need a fully built rig to start wheeling with us. Many of our events are intentionally stock-friendly. This page explains what we mean by “stock-friendly” and where upgrades start to matter.
What “Stock-Friendly” Usually Means
- No mandatory rock ledges or large boulders.
- Reasonable breakover angles — you’re unlikely to high-center.
- Lines are wide enough to avoid serious body damage with care.
- Terrain stays within the capabilities of modern 4x4 SUVs/Jeep/Bronco rigs.
Helpful Basics For Stock Rigs
- Good all-terrain tires in decent condition.
- Front & rear recovery points (tow hooks, hitch, etc.).
- Decent skid plates or awareness of low-hanging parts.
- Understanding how to engage 4WD (and any drive modes you have).
When Upgrades Start To Matter
- Moderate trails with larger embedded rocks or ledges.
- Rutted climbs where extra clearance and articulation help.
- Snow runs where bigger, more aggressive tires make a big difference.
- Difficult/technical routes where underbody armor is important.
Talk To Us About Your Rig
If you’re unsure whether an event fits your setup, send us a message or comment on the event with your vehicle details. We’d rather help you pick the right run than have you feel over your head on the trail.
